It's been said before.

But repetition never hurt the hard headed.

What have you done to help a family struggling to get by in this economy? What have you done to help poor children who live in bad neighborhoods, who go to failing schools? What have you done to help children who are abused, neglected, molested, murdered? What have you done to change the foster care system (in 2002, the State of Florida "lost" 1000 foster children, only 155 of which were finally accounted for. The State of Massachusetts "loses" around 400 foster children a year, etc. Do you realze this is where those forced births are going to end up, for the most part? Does that bother you?) I mean, what have you done that was of any practical value? I know there is a certain cheap instant gratification in assigning sordid sexual pasts to cartoon characters and reading snarky email "alerts" and sending off a quick checky-poo. But what have you actually accomplished? Are you confusing a cheap thrill with good works? Do you really want to be remembered as nothing more than the person who "outed" Tinky Winky and SpongeBob? Do you really believe that "No Name-Calling Day" is encouraging sin? Do you need to have your medication changed, perhaps?

And while I'm pissing off the universe, next time you want to get angry about the "religion of peace," and the other guy, stop for a second and think that Randall Terry (founder of Operation Rescue) advocated the death penalty for homosexuality. And The Institute for Christian Economic from Tyler, TX agrees, and says the penalty should be death by stoning (as well as a return to slavery, "one of the most beneficent of Biblical laws").

It's entirely possible that while we are prancing about "advancing the ideal of liberty" and thinking our shit doesn't stink, we are digging ourselves into a deeper and deeper hole.

I'm just sayin'.
